With the winter season quickly approaching, we figured it was time to make some announcements, including our winter picks and some updates. Note, however, that these are still subject to change especially in the case that one is not simulcast.

But first! Some New Year’s greetings from the staff:

Winter 2015 Plans

DDY’s next season begins with something familiar: Tokyo Ghoul √A, which is the second season of Sereft’s favorite anime. We will possibly be waiting for TVA this season as it only airs a day late.

Our second pick goes to Isuca. We read a manga called Isuca and believe me when I say that this will be an anime adaptation of that manga.

Donations

I’d like to take a moment to point out that we finally have a working donation system after several months of not having one. I’d also like to ask that, if you appreciate the work we do, please consider helping us cover server costs, currently ~100$ per month which I am paying out of pocket. We’ve set up a Gratipay button in the sidebar so you can donate and see how much we receive weekly. Remember that every little bit helps!

We’re excited to continue making progress on blurays and we intend to do more in the (very near!) future. If you want to help us buy some of the BDs that don’t seem to be appearing online any time soon like Majimoji Rurumo, Soul Eater Not! or Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?, you can either donate or buy the BD from our Amazon Wishlist and it will make it to us. If you would prefer to buy a whole season of BDs and keep them yourself, we can arrange that too. Make sure to let us know soon either on IRC or email.

Public QC

The Public QC system we set up two seasons ago has been a great help! You all have been letting us know when we mess up, especially when it’s a bigger problem and we want to thank you for that. So this is just a reminder that DDY isn’t perfect but we want to make sure our mistakes get caught. So, even if you think that someone else has already told us about an error, please do submit a public QC because you never know, perhaps no one has sent it in yet.

Recruitment

We’ve been pushing pretty hard for new recruits lately and, as you can see above, we’ve been pretty successful. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t need any more help! Even with lots of new staff, sometimes schedules don’t work or issues come up and we need replacements or we’d just like to get more done more quickly. So, we’re in need of Translators and Translation checkers, Encoders, Timers, Typesetters and KFXers. If any of these positions appeal to you, head over to our recruitment page to get started.

And last but not least…

We are still working on Hanamonogatari and Flag, and we are planning to finish them both in the coming weeks. We know that the progress on them has been very slow, so we won’t blame you if you couldn’t wait. But with that said, we will try our best not to let that kind of thing happen again and we hope that you still keep watching our releases in 2015!
